School RS Rep Sonia Thakur attended the Round Square Discovery Framework (RSDF) workshop held at Hong Kong on April 28-29, 2017. RSDF has been developed collaboratively by an international group of Heads, Teachers and Curriculum Directors from Round Square schools which captures and describes the spirit of a Round Square learner who develops and exhibits competencies and attitudes in relation to six Round Square Ideals, namely, Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service. The 12 discoveries that students make on their learning journey are inquisitiveness, tenacity, courage, compassion, inventiveness, ability to solve problems, self-awareness, sense of responsibility, appreciation for diversity, commitment to sustainability, communication skills and team-work. Earlier, school Round Square Rep Sonia Thakur had also attended a similar workshop at Hong Kong.
The key speakers at the conference were Rod Fraser, Chairman of Round Square, Rachael Westgarth, Chief Executive Officer of Round Square and Principals of eminent schools from all over the world. During the Workshop, Sonia Thakur gained a deeper insight into the role Principles of Round Square play in shaping characters of young people and developing in them an array of skills that would go a long way in making them responsible and caring citizens of the world. She also learned about ways and means to implement 12 discoveries discussed during the Workshop within the ambit of normal curriculum of a forward-looking and progressive school.
